October came before we knew it and it brought another event in our Active Schools schedule. Ms. McAuley did a fantastic job creating a display explaining our “Run Around Europe” initiative.
Each class group was given a list of popular European destinations to reach over the month, with every pupil in the school’s laps helping to reach the targets. Some of these destinations included the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid, the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the Spire in Dublin. Classes also took this opportunity to look up some of these destinations and find out more about them.
Each week Mr. Barnes announced who covered the furthest distance and this created a great healthy competition in the school. The best class each week earned a homework pass. There is already great interest in the next running challenge!
GAA coaching with Eunan from the Louth County Board started, as well as a coach from Drogheda United coming in to some classes on a Thursday. We are so lucky to have so many different sports available to us in St. Paul’s!
